The incumbent will work as part of a team, which is responsible for the repairs and line boring of LHD buckets and mobile equipment articulations
Key responsibilities will include:
- Line boring of LHD buckets and mobile equipment articulation.
- Operating Overhead Crane to lift up load.
- Operating Forklift to move tasks.
- Involvement in small projects to improve equipment.
- Assisting supervisor in compliance with planned maintenance system.
- Ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards.
- Carrying out Legal checks on lifting equipment.
- Carry out checks on equipment on daily basis.
Intrinsic Qualities:
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have good working knowledge of the core process.
- Must have a good understanding of the Palabora Integrated SHEQ system.
- Must be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Must be able to identify potential hazards related to the job and take action to perform all work within the framework of safe work practices provided.
- Must be willing to work shifts, standby and overtime when required.
- Must be adaptable to change.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Artisan (Fitter & Turner/ Fitter/ Boilermaker) (Proof of Trade certificate and statement of results to be attached).
- Valid first aid certificate will be advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Exposure to a workshop environment.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Line boring.
