Software and Hardware implementation and support to Customers sites that include Electronic Security and Safety Systems, Building Managing Systems, as well as Workforce Management Solutions as per agreement and the relevant South African National Standards. Technician will be responsible for compliance on Project and SLA commitments as per contractual agreements.
What you'll do:- Ensure all required equipment, tools, PPE, documentation and incidentals are available, prepared, and in working order to execute work on-site
- Assist Project Manager / Service Manager on all relevant tasks as instructed.
- Project execution
- Adhere to timelines and standards for implementation to ensure the task is done within the quoted time of the project.
- Allocating stock used on customer-to-customer contract and complete/update hand-over to service documentation.
- Preparation of all relevant stock acquired for projects prior to installation.
- Ensure all relevant stock, consumables are booked to projects / call
- Acquire delivery note /acceptance certificate after installation has been completed.
- Make sure that faulty stock from customer is booked in for repairs and removed from account/project
- Allocating correct stock numbers to calls/projects for efficient and fast invoicing purposes
- Support on all hardware/software installed on all sites.
- Ensure related project documentation for implementation/maintenance/service has been completed
- Ensure that the project/incident/ticket system has been updated accordingly to ensure tracking is in place for all tasks as logged.
- Installations:
- Execution and coordinating all work on-site for installation by making sure that stakeholders are fully aware and informed of the requirements as well as deadlines.
- Ensure commissioning and testing of all hardware and software applicable to site/project.
- Compile “As Build” documentation with photo’s and “Handover to Service” documentation for all works
- Maintenance:
- Ensure that hardware / software maintenance is scheduled and performed on all relevant equipment/systems with full commissioning and testing,
- Ensure all OEM recommendations are adhered to
- Ensure relevant SBT and South African National Standards are adhered to.
- Ensure accurate and up to date documentation to provide proof of the services rendered are completed after every task conclusion.
- Ensure Quality inspection and Housekeeping during / after installation / maintenance
- Ensure timeous escalation and communication to Project Manager on a continuous basis, with constant information to the Project manager/Service Manager to ensure SBT and customers are kept updated on any project/request/tickets or issues being experienced.
- Occupational Health and safety duties that the engineer might be appointed to carry out on site
- Timesheets/ Documentation/ Reporting must be concluded daily
- Vehicle log sheets must be supplied weekly
- Training must be attended on a regular and scheduled basis
- Adherence to all group Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines (PSPG’s)
- Assist colleagues on an “As and When” basis. (This could involve technical advice, workload assistance, training, general support, or any other task as instructed
- Manage all Project / Service / Contracting Resources to ensure an effective Service/Installation/ Maintenance/Project conclusion
Your Expertise:- Function related hands-on experience: minimum 5 Years
- Structured and methodical execution with knowledge of fault finding and root cause analysis
- Working under pressure and with constant deadlines
- General Market Knowledge – Understanding high demand of Customer Service
- Communication – Ability to communicate efficiently to customers as well as co-workers on fault statuses.
- Self-Starter and Motivated – Driven by the need to succeed
- Low Voltage Wiring Standards for installations as it pertains to installation and mechanical protection of equipment and cabling (Sans 10142-1)
- Electronic Skills – Low Current Power, monitoring circuits, relays.
- Networking Skills (N+ will be beneficial)

- PC skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and Internet.
- Software installation skills.
- For Fire –
- Experience in servicing/installing HW / SW supplied by Carrier Fire and Security, Honeywell, Technoswitch and various gaseous extinguishant suppliers
- Cause and effect programming of fire alarm panels
Qualifications:- Essential Qualifications:
- Gr 12 or equivalent College diploma or Relevant Experience and Courses.
- DIP Electronic/Electrical Engineering (LC)
- PSIRA Certification – C
- SAQCC Registration: Fire Detection Commissioner/Serviceman and Gas Suppression Commissioner/Serviceman
- Preferred Qualifications:
- SBT Access Control (WFM)
- Alarm Systems
- CCTV – Hikvision, Bosch, Milestone, etc.
- Access Control – Impro, Gallagher ZK, IDECO/IDEMIA, etc
- For Fire Technicians, the following: -Fire – Ziton ZP2, Ziton ZP3 Technoswitch, etc.
- Advanced Range and Conventional Detection Systems
- Basic Electronics.
- Network
