Job Title: TEAM LEADER – FLEET CONTROL & CCTV SURVEILLANCE
Fidelity Security Services is seeking a highly skilled Fleet Control & CCTV Team Leader to join our team. The Fleet Control & CCTV Team Leader is responsible for leading and supervising Fidelity Security Services' Fleet Control and CCTV Surveillance teams within a central control room environment. The role focuses on ensuring effective monitoring of vehicles, security systems, CCTV networks, and high-risk operational areas through advanced security technology and integrated monitoring platforms. The incumbent oversees real-time incident management, risk identification, escalation processes and operational reporting while providing ongoing guidance and support to Controllers to maintain high levels of security and operational efficiency.
As a key link between the control room, management, technical support teams, and stakeholders, the Team Leader plays a vital role in protecting company assets, mitigating security threats, and ensuring business continuity. The position requires a decisive and experienced security professional with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities, capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Through effective leadership and technical expertise, the Team Leader drives team performance, improves situational awareness and ensures consistent delivery of exceptional security monitoring and fleet control operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Valid PSIRA Grade A/B Registration.
- CCTV and/or Control Room Certification.
- First Aid and Fire Fighting will be advantageous.
- Security Risk Management or supervisory/management qualifications will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a security control room, CCTV monitoring, fleet tracking or similar environment.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team will be advantageous.
- Experience in security incident management and response.
- Experience working with electronic security and monitoring systems.
Technical Knowledge
Experience with the following will be advantageous:
- Hikvision CCTV and NVR/DVR systems.
- IP and PTZ cameras.
- GPS vehicle tracking systems.
- Alarm monitoring systems.
- Video analytics and AI surveillance technology.
- Microsoft Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise Fleet and CCTV Controllers during the shift.
- Allocate duties and ensure the control room is adequately staffed and operational.
- Conduct shift briefings and effective handovers.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, and adherence to procedures.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Controllers.
- Ensure Controllers understand and follow company SOPs and client requirements.
- Identify performance or operational issues and escalate where necessary.
- Maintain discipline, professionalism, and accountability within the team.
2. CCTV & Surveillance
- Oversee continuous CCTV and electronic security monitoring.
- Ensure high-risk areas, entrances, exits, perimeters and critical infrastructure are monitored.
- Ensure suspicious activity, criminal behaviour, unauthorised access and safety risks are identified and escalated.
- Ensure CCTV systems and cameras are online and recorded correctly.
- Monitor camera health and ensure faults are reported and followed up.
- Ensure CCTV footage is correctly retrieved and preserved when required.
- Ensure enhanced monitoring is implemented during incidents, events, or elevated-risk situations.
3. Fleet Monitoring
- Oversee real-time monitoring of fleet and line-haul vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are monitored from dispatch through to destination.
- Identify route deviations, unauthorised stops, delays, and unusual vehicle activity.
- Monitor geofence breaches, panic signals and other security alerts.
- Ensure fleet-related incidents are investigated and escalated.
- Ensure secure vehicle and cargo dispatch procedures are followed.
- Ensure required vehicle, driver, cargo and security checks are completed.
- Support asset protection throughout the transportation process.
4. Incident Management
- Take control of the control-room response during serious or high-risk incidents.
- Ensure incidents are identified, assessed and escalated in line with SOPs.
- Gather and communicate accurate information to the relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with response teams and other departments where required.
- Ensure incidents are monitored until resolved.
- Ensure serious incidents are escalated immediately.
- Review incident information and reports for accurate.
- Ensure evidence and CCTV footage are preserved where required.
- Identify recurring incidents and operational risks and bring these to management's attention.
5. Technical Fault Monitoring
The Team Leader must ensure that CCTV and monitoring system faults are identified, recorded, and escalated.
This includes:
- Offline cameras.
- No video feed.
- Poor image quality.
- Frozen cameras.
- Obstructed or incorrectly positioned cameras.
- Recording failures.
- Network connectivity issues.
- Hardware faults.
- System integration issues.
- CCTV platform communication failures.
The Team Leader must ensure that sufficient information is provided to technical teams and that outstanding faults are followed up.
6. Reporting & Administration
- Review daily operational and security reports.
- Ensure incident logs and the Occurrence Book are accurately maintained.
- Review fleet monitoring and CCTV reports.
- Track outstanding technical and camera faults.
- Ensure effective shift handovers.
- Ensure all incidents and operational activities are recorded accurately and objectively.
- Provide management with relevant operational information and trends.
- Support audits, investigations and management reporting.
7. Compliance
- Ensure the team complies with company SOPs, policies and security standards.
- Ensure client-specific requirements are followed.
- Ensure correct escalation procedures are followed.
- Monitor operational discipline and quality standards.
- Identify and report non-compliance.
- Support audits, investigations and corrective actions.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that the Fleet Control and CCTV Surveillance teams operate together effectively, providing continuous monitoring, early identification of risks, accurate information and timely response to security and operational incidents.
The successful candidate must be a hands-on leader who can manage people while understanding the systems, processes, and security requirements that support an effective control room.
