Stefanutti Stocks Inland is seeking a Sub Agent to plan, coordinate and supervise civil construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required quality standards. The role oversees site resources, subcontractors, labour, plant and materials while ensuring compliance with project and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution
- Assist the Site Agent and Project Manager with project planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate daily construction activities in accordance with project programmes.
- Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or risks.
- Implement corrective actions where required to maintain project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and client requirements.
Site Supervision
- Supervise foremen, supervisors, artisans, operators, and labour teams.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site.
- Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity.
- Ensure proper site housekeeping and maintenance of work areas.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality and progress.
Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Regulations, and company SHEQ procedures.
- Promote a zero-harm safety culture.
- Participate in risk assessments and safe work planning.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure employees and subcontractors comply with safety requirements.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure environmental and quality standards are maintained.
Commercial and Cost Control
- Monitor labour, plant, and material costs.
- Assist with project cost control and budget monitoring.
- Verify quantities completed and support monthly valuations.
- Identify and report cost overruns or productivity concerns.
- Assist in preparing variation claims and supporting documentation.
Quality Management
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved quality plans and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks.
- Manage snag lists and corrective actions.
- Maintain quality records and inspection documentation.
Resource Management
- Plan and coordinate plant, equipment, labour, and material requirements.
- Monitor the utilisation of construction resources.
- Ensure availability of materials to meet project schedules.
- Liaise with procurement and logistics teams regarding material requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, local authorities, and subcontractors.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with project stakeholders.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain site records, diaries, and productivity reports.
- Monitor and record labour attendance and productivity.
- Assist with project documentation and contractual correspondence.

Qualifications:
- National Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Skills:
- Strong understanding of civil construction processes and site trades
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documentation
- Strong working knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or similar contract forms
- Experience with project planning, scheduling and budgeting.

Experience:
- Experience in technical operations/production, supervising and overseeing site activities.
- Experience in construction planning, project coordination and site management.
- Experience working with drawings, subcontractors, plant and equipment.
- Experience with construction budgets, procurement and commercial monitoring.
- Experience using CCS Site Plan would be advantageous.
- 5-10 years experience in civil engineering construction
- Proven experience in roads, earthworks, concrete structures, pipelines, bulk services or infrastructure
