Motus Aftermarket Parts is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team at the Meadowview Head Office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial and administrative management of NAPA operations, including the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of effective financial controls designed to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role will provide financial support and guidance to the Financial Manager and area teams, hile ensuring that financial policies, controls, and procedures are consistently applied in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- BCom or BCom Honours degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ progressively responsible accounting experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong administrative and analytical capabilities.

Key Performance Indicators
- Financial Operations
- Review bank reconciliations, ensuring all reconciling items are current and outstanding items are resolved timeously.
- Ensure appropriate financial controls and procedures are implemented and maintained to support accurate management accounts.
- Complete day-end processes in accordance with company requirements and controls.
- Complete GLP570 day-end processes, including checking notification accounts and reconciling the General Ledger to reported balances.
- Monitor and reconcile trade debtors, creditors, inventory, suspense accounts, cash on hand, cash sales, out-of-balance accounts, parts penalties, and parts write-ups.
- Review the APS504G day and month-to-date sales reports, ensuring the correct sub-groups are reported and requesting supplier invoices where required.
- Investigate and resolve financial differences and variances.
- Process month-end and accrual journals and maintain an accurate journal register.
- Maintain effective working relationships with all departments receiving financial services and support.
- Oversee and coordinate external audit processes.
- Supervision of the Processing Department
- Ensure documents are processed accurately, with minimal errors and within the required timeframes.
- Ensure invoices comply with SARS requirements.
- Review supplier interim statements on a weekly basis.
- Ensure statements and invoices are distributed accurately and timeously.
- Direct Billing and Wholesale Distributor Revenue – NAPA & DS
- Ensure sales are received and processed within the required timeframes.
- Maintain and regularly update sales schedules on Excel.
- Capture sales in ELCB, the internal accounting system.
- Reconcile Excel schedules to ELCB sales (PSVSALES).
- Invoice suppliers in accordance with agreed deals and arrangements.
- Ensure invoices and statements are issued to suppliers accurately and timeously.
- Ensure supplier credit notes are correctly coded and processed.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure invoices are settled in accordance with agreed terms.
- Maintain a clean and accurate Supplier Debtors Age Analysis.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve outstanding queries and account discrepancies.
- Financial Information and Reporting
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations by the 10th working day of each month, ensuring reported information is accurate, complete, and properly supported.
- Save completed reconciliations in PDF format together with all supporting documentation.
- Ensure all reconciling items are investigated and actioned before month-end.
- Maintain and update tax pack schedules and reconciliations monthly.
- Prepare monthly VAT calculations.
- Provide ad-hoc financial reports and analysis to the Financial Manager as required.
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
- Raise inter-company invoices and credit notes, as well as other ad-hoc invoices required by various departments.
- Ensure financial records and supporting documentation meet the requirements of auditors and relevant government authorities.
- Maintain effective relationships with external auditors and provide the necessary information and support during audit processes.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal auditors and implement required controls and procedures.
- Ensure internal audit findings and recommendations are addressed and cleared within agreed timeframes.
