Stefanutti Stocks Inland is seeking a dedicated and physically fit Liner Installation Technician to join our field operations team. The role involves installing and seaming geosynthetic containment systems across landfill, mining and environmental projects, ensuring work meets required safety, quality and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Geosynthetic Installation: Accurately deploy and install HDPE, LLDPE, GCL and geotextiles in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Welding & Seaming Quality: Complete liner seaming and welding to required standards, maintaining high-quality, consistent and leak-free seams.
- Quality Control & Testing: Conduct and accurately document vacuum box, air pressure and other required non-destructive tests, with minimal defects or rework.
- Productivity & Project Targets: Complete assigned lining and welding activities within planned project schedules and productivity targets.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean and safely store welding equipment, hand tools and other equipment to ensure availability and optimal performance.
- Surface Preparation:? Ensure surfaces are correctly cleaned, prepared and ground before installation to achieve required adhesion and seam quality.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain full compliance with site-specific HSE requirements, PPE standards and safe work procedures, with zero avoidable safety incidents.
- Defect & Rework Management: Identify, report and rectify installation or welding defects promptly in collaboration with QA/QC personnel.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete required inspection, testing and installation records and submit documentation within specified timelines.
- Teamwork & Site Coordination: Work effectively with supervisors, QA/QC personnel and project teams to achieve installation, quality and project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Certificate - Thermoplastic Overlap Welding or IAGI Certified Welding Technician

Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in geosynthetics, civil construction, or pipe fusion
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry fusion equipment and work 10+ hour shifts outdoors in various weather conditions
- Travel Readiness: Must be willing travel to remote project sites for extended periods (often several weeks)
- Technical Skill: Proficiency with basic hand/power tools and ability to read simple construction drawings
