Distribution Centre Manager (Berlin, Eastern Cape)

Umtiza, a division of SSK’s Commercial Services’ Retail division, is a distributor of agricultural products with outlets in the Eastern Cape. Umtiza currently has a career opportunity at its Distribution Centre in Berlin for a Manager. To ensure the operational success of this division, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the day-to-day logistical operations and responsibilities of the Distribution Centre.

• The management of the operational and logistical activities of the Distribution Centre, including receiving, storage, packing, and timely delivery of stock to the Umtiza outlets.
• The implementation and maintenance of exceptional service delivery.
• Inventory management (including the management of inventory levels, floor and shelf space, regular inventory counts, the monitoring and control of inventory shortages, and stock with expiration dates).
• Cost and Budget management.
• The management and motivation of employees, the promotion of a collaborative and positive work environment, and the development of employee skills.
• Ensure that shelf care, cleanliness, and general housekeeping are always up to standard.
• Asset management (including the maintenance of vehicles and other assets).
• Compliance with all relevant statutory obligations, including obligations related to occupational health and safety.
• The identification of new processes/work procedures and their implementation to optimize the operational success of the distribution center.

• An appropriate qualification and/or proof of competence.
• At least five years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment.
• Good computer skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Strong leadership, good planning, interpersonal and communication skills.
• A valid Code EB (Code 08) driver's license.
