Hello, future Corporate Actuarial Specialist III
This is a senior technical role within FNB Life, reporting to the Head of Corporate Actuarial. You will take ownership of key valuation and experience activities while providing leadership and technical direction to a team of aspiring actuaries.
The role is highly hands-on and suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail, challenging results, solving complex actuarial problems and turning analysis into meaningful business insight.
Are you someone who can:
Lead the delivery and review of SAM, Embedded Value and actuarial basis-setting activities.
Coach, develop and provide day-to-day guidance to a team of aspiring actuaries
Perform detailed technical analysis of various balance sheet providing clear insight into key drivers and emerging trends.
Review actuarial results, models, methodologies and processes to ensure technical accuracy, appropriateness and consistency.
Provide expert actuarial input into capital management, balance sheet management and strategic decision-making.
Present and explain movements in solvency, embedded value and experience outcomes to senior management and governance forums.
Drive continuous improvement in actuarial models, reporting processes and analytical capability through innovation and automation.
Support actuarial governance, model governance and audit requirements through robust documentation and controls.
Lead actuarial workstreams and coordinate delivery across multiple stakeholders and priorities.
You will be an ideal candidate if you have:
A bachelor’s degree in actuarial science
FASSA qualification (or IFA equivalent)
A minimum of 5 years Actuarial experience within Life Insurance, Financial services or Actuarial Consulting
Experience within life valuations will be preferred
