Midas is searching for a
Store Man to join the team in
Nylstroom. The purpose of this position is to improve stock control, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure the efficient receiving, storage, and issuing of goods. The role supports operational efficiency by reducing stock discrepancies, maintaining warehouse organization, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory control environment will be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of stock control and warehouse procedures.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications
- Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use inventory-related systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Receiving and Inspection
- Receive goods delivered by suppliers and verify quantities against invoices, purchase orders, and other relevant documentation.
- Inspect goods to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from damage.
- Prepare and process Goods Received Notes (GRNs) for all received stock.
Storage Management
- Allocate and maintain designated storage locations for stock items.
- Ensure stock is stored safely and efficiently to facilitate easy identification and retrieval.
- Implement measures to protect stock from damage, theft, or loss.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, reflecting all stock movements.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock items to ensure timely replenishment.
- Conduct periodic stock counts and assist with stock reconciliations.
Material Issuing
- Issue stock and materials in accordance with approved job cards, invoices, and credit notes.
- Ensure all stock issued is accurately recorded and supported by the relevant documentation.
Record Keeping and Administration
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions.
- Ensure all warehouse documentation is filed, updated, and readily available for audit purposes.
- Capture and update stock information on relevant systems.
Housekeeping and Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures when handling stock, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure proper storage practices are followed at all times.
Continuous Improvement
- Obtain feedback from stock users and identify opportunities to improve inventory and warehouse processes.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and service levels within the warehouse.
