Pepkor Lifestyle is seeking a Senior Functional BlueSword Logistics Consultant who will be responsible for the functional design, implementation, integration, and support of BlueSword logistics solutions within a complex SAP warehouse and logistics environment.
The role requires a strong background in SAP Warehouse Management and Logistics, combined with the ability to understand end-to-end warehouse processes and translate operational requirements into effective BlueSword solutions. The consultant will work closely with warehouse operations, SAP functional teams, technical teams, integration teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure that BlueSword solutions integrate effectively with the broader SAP landscape.
The consultant will lead requirement unpacking and solution design workshops, produce functional specifications, support configuration and integration activities, coordinate testing, and provide 3rd level support for incidents and problems. The role will also participate in projects, change requests, continuous improvement initiatives, and warehouse transformation programmes.
The Senior Functional BlueSword Logistics Consultant will act as a subject matter expert for BlueSword-related warehouse and logistics processes while applying strong SAP warehouse management knowledge to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and aligned with operational requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide functional expertise for BlueSword logistics solutions and associated warehouse processes.
- Lead workshops with business and operational stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document logistics and warehouse requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional solutions across BlueSword and the supporting SAP landscape.
- Design and document end-to-end warehouse and logistics processes.
- Understand and support integration between BlueSword and SAP warehouse and logistics solutions.
- Design and support inbound, outbound, replenishment, picking, packing, staging, stock movement, goods receipt, goods issue, and physical inventory processes.
- Analyse the impact of BlueSword changes on SAP WM/EWM, MM, SD, inventory management, and logistics execution processes.
- Support warehouse automation and integration with solutions such as conveyors, sorters, put-walls, automated packing equipment, RF devices, scanners, printers, and other material handling equipment.
- Define and validate functional integration requirements between BlueSword, SAP, middleware, and third-party logistics solutions.
- Produce detailed Functional Design Specifications and collaborate with developers and integration teams on technical solutions.
- Define interface requirements including validations, error handling, monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
- Support IDoc, API, file-based, middleware, and other system integration processes.
- Conduct and support unit testing, system integration testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and post-go-live validation.
- Investigate and resolve complex BlueSword, SAP warehouse, logistics, and integration-related incidents and problems.
- Perform root cause analysis and identify permanent solutions for recurring operational issues.
- Provide 3rd level functional support aligned to operational support processes and agreed SLAs.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Support cutover, deployment, hypercare, and production stabilisation activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, system stability, inventory accuracy, throughput, and operational performance.
- Provide functional guidance and mentorship to junior resources and support teams.
- Work closely with SAP WM/EWM, MM, SD, development, Basis, integration, architecture, and warehouse operations teams.
- Ensure solutions comply with agreed architecture, design governance, change management, and operational support standards.
- Maintain functional documentation, process documentation, configuration documentation, and support procedures.
Experience
- 5 - 7+ years' experience in SAP Warehouse Management, EWM, Logistics, or related SAP supply chain solutions.
- Strong functional experience in SAP WM and/or SAP EWM.
- Proven experience working with warehouse management and logistics solutions in large, complex environments.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations and their integration with SAP.
- Experience with inbound and outbound logistics processes.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and stock movement processes.
- Experience integrating warehouse management solutions with SAP ERP .
- Experience with RF devices, barcode scanning, warehouse labelling, and printing solutions.
- Experience with SAP interfaces including IDocs, APIs, RFCs, middleware, and file-based integrations.
- Experience troubleshooting complex cross-system and integration issues.
- Experience producing Functional Design Specifications, process flows, interface requirements, and test scenarios.
- Experience supporting high-volume warehouse or distribution operations.
- Experience in SAP incident, problem, change, and release management environments.
- Experience participating in implementations, upgrades, rollouts, or warehouse transformation programmes.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

- BlueSword certification or formal BlueSword training (advantageous, where applicable).
- Certification in Agile Methodologies (advantageous).
- ITIL V3 or ITIL 4 Certification (advantageous).
